چکیده

Introduction: Ferrocement is a low-cost material that can be utilized as replacement for expensive fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP), which generally used retrofitting structural and non-structural reinforced concrete members. The objective of this paper to investigate the effectiveness wire mesh in flexural members such beams. It also investigated capacity beams, are with partial or complete regular rebar. orientations various forms within beam section taken into consideration. finite element method model analyze performance studied including load-deflection relationship, first cracked ultimate loads, crack patterns, stress, were evaluated using method. has been verified experimental results. results show beams retrofitted ferrocement rebar replaced by have superior low depth. high load-carrying ductility. confinement three-sided improves beam. observed remains same when length exceeds half span length.

The authors of this experimental research work have made an attempt to experimentally investigate the ultimate flexural load of ferrocement slabs of size 700mm. X 200mm. X 15mm. (thickness) reinforced with PVC coated steel weld mesh, and compare the results with slabs using GI-coated steel weld mesh, by varying the number of layers from 1-3. Ordinary Portland Cement, locally available river san...

Flexural Strengthening of Deficient Reinforced Concrete Beams with Post-Tensioned Carbon Composites using Finite Element Modelling

The application of external post-tensioned steel bars as an effective way to strengthen an existing bridge has been so far used in many different countries. In recent decades, however, they have been replaced by bars made from Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP), as a material with high tensile strength and corrosion resistance, to address several concerns with steel bars such as their appli...

Flexural Behavior of Reinforced HPFRCC Beams

High Performance Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Composite (HPFRCC) materials exhibit strain hardening behavior with multiple cracking under tensile loading. In this paper, experimental and parametric studies are performed to assess the influence of using HPFRCC material instead of normal concrete in reinforced concrete beams. After calibrating the experimental results, the analytical results inc...

Strengthening of Shear Deficient Reinforced Concrete Beams Retrofitted with Cement-based Composites

The restoration of strength and stiffness of damaged reinforced concrete beams with deficient reinforcements, through retrofitting, was experimentally and numerically studied. Retrofitting is carried out by wrapping glass fiber strips using cement-based composite binders. Six beams of size 1500mm (length) x100mm (width) x 150mm (depth) have been tested in four-point bending. Three beams are use...
